ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE
Baltimore families in areas like Curtis Bay live in sacrifice zones:
Neighborhoods where government and industry have decided health, safety, and futures are expendable. That bargain has always been unacceptable. I have spent my career, from leading environmental nonprofits to serving on the Council, fighting to end the idea that any community can be written off for profit.
Trump’s attacks on the Environmental Protection Agency have stripped away the few protections these communities can count on, leaving polluters freer to poison the air, water, and soil. When federal oversight is dismantled, the costs fall hardest on families already struggling with asthma, cancer, and unsafe housing. In Baltimore, that means neighborhoods like Curtis Bay will be left behind unless we fight back.
That is why, as your congressman, I will:
-
by strengthening enforcement against repeat polluters and ensuring federal penalties are invested back into communities like Curtis Bay, not lost in bureaucracy.
-
opposing Trump’s efforts to dismantle the EPA and restore federal authority to hold polluters accountable.
-
by directing federal resources to install solar, weatherize homes, and build resilient infrastructure where the health costs are highest.
-
pushing for stricter reporting and transparency requirements on emissions from incinerators, freight yards, and other industrial facilities in Baltimore.

Environmental & Economic Justice: End sacrifice zones, hold polluters accountable, bring clean energy to vulnerable neighborhoods, invest federal dollars in local jobs, small businesses, and community infrastructure.
